The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Review Blog

Hi Everyone! 🙂

It’s been awhile since I have done a review of a film. The last one was in 2012 when I did a review of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey . So this is my second film review and this is for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

The film was the second of a trilogy which was released in December 2013 and the final part The Hobbit: There and Back Again will be out in December 2014 and cannot wait to see it.

With the Desolation of Smaug I enjoyed it much more than the first film because it had more storyline and action than the previous film. I did watch it in 48 frames-per-second high-quality and in 3D which didn’t really bother me and didn’t notice any difference. Thankfully the first 10-15 minutes of the film helped my vision to adjust to it.

There were many good parts including  of course the action scenes with the wine barrels in the river going through Mirkwood. They should make that into a water ride for fun to be honest and I loved the Dwarve barrel rolling too!

I enjoyed the spider fighting, the wood elves, the chase of the orcs and Dwarves, Lake Town and of course Benedict Cumberbatch as the Dragon Smaug. He was excellent and menacing, it sent chills into my body and the chemistry between him and  Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins) was so good. I also enjoyed the cliffhanger at the end too with Gandalf the Grey.

There only a few disappointments though including the love story between Legolas, Tauriel and Kili. Also the scene with the Necromancer, that was meant to happen over a century before the events of the Hobbit. One final thing was the it was more of a love story aimed to J.R.R. Tolkien by Peter Jackson.

Otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed it and give the film a 9 out of 10.

What did you think of the film if you have already watched it?

See you all soon and thanks for reading this.

From,

Sav

P.S.

Here’s a parody of the film (enjoy) 🙂
