Three Must Visit Places in Pinner


Written for London360 in January 2016:

1. The Queen’s Head

According to the Pub’s website, the Pub is the oldest Inn in the Village. There has been an Inn on the site since 1540.

For those Ghostbusters out there:

Horatio Nelson’s only Daughter Eleanor had an unfortunate incident with a bolting horse outside the Inn which led to her untimely death in 1872. She was unmarried and predeceased by her mother. Her ghost is said to haunt the Pub to this very day.

Events of Interest:

Every Monday there is a good old Pub Quiz held at 8:30pm. Entry to the quiz is only £1 per person.

2. Pinner Memorial Park

According to Harrow Council, the park is a place for peaceful recreation. There is a bowling green, a pond with ducks and geese and a small aviary of budgerigars. For total peace and quiet there is an ornamental ‘Peace Garden.’

For the Foodies:

There is a café situated inside West House by the pond called “Daisy’s in the Park.” At night the café becomes a quirky bistro called “Daisy’s in the Dark.”

Events of Interest:

There is a story telling and spoken word event for adults on the 3rd February 2016 at West House. This is from 7:30-9:30pm. There is £3 entry fee which will go to The William Heath Robinson Trust Charity.

3. Duck Pond Market

According to the Duck Pond Market website they launched in 2009. They created the Market for independent crafters, food producers and small businesses to sell in the local community.

About the Pinner Market:

The Market in Pinner features the best local artists, crafters, food producers and ethical businesses. There are locally made arts & crafts, gifts, vintage, homewares and clothing. There is also locally made food which you can take eat and take home.

When is the Market in the Village:

The next two dates are the 13th February 2016 and the 12th March 2016.

Every 2nd Saturday of the Month: 10am-3pm.
