Doctor Who Series 9 Review Blog

Hi Everyone! 🙂

Series 9 of Doctor Who was a very interesting and fun for me. This was because it was engaging,  the stories reeled me in and I was immersed into each episode. I also enjoyed that there is a new Sonic Screwdriver and there was a fitting end to Clara’s Story.

Okay the overnight views weren’t brilliant but BARB is an outdated system of recording them on Television. I would like to know what the BBC iPlayer numbers were for each episode. I watched most of the episodes on iPlayer instead than live.

Peter Capaldi as the Doctor is just getting better and I am falling in love more with the Time Lord. The only downside to the series was the Sleep No More ending but do hope for a conclusion next series and like the two parters.

As the last series I will rate each episode out of 10 and give an average score at the end with my favourite clips of the series at the end.

Doctor Who Christmas Special: The Time of The Doctor Review Blog

Hi Everyone! 🙂

I know this is almost a month later than intended and many people may have already watched this during and after Christmas.

The Christmas Special called The Time of The Doctor was better than I expected and continued off after the 50th Anniversary Special in November 2013.

The storyline was good and I thoroughly enjoyed the action scenes and the comedy (including Handles the Cyberman). It was a good send off to Matt Smith’s Doctor and was nice to see the Time Lords give him a new regeneration cycle even though they are only supposed to have twelve.

Seeing the Doctor age and being on Trenzalore protecting that town and the signal for many centuries from his many enemies (including Daleks and Cybermen) showed that he wasn’t going to let go easily. I enjoyed the scene in the TARDIS seeing Amy Pond one last time and the regeneration scene was very upsetting.

Seeing Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor was albeit a bit rushed but the amnesia was amusing to say at least. I cannot wait to see him as the Doctor and was excited when announced in August 2013 that he was taking on the titular role.

The filming for the eighth series has already started and cannot wait for Autumn 2014.

I give this episode a 8.5 out of 10.

Here is the regeneration scene:

I will be back with more Doctor Who reviews come Autumn 2014. I hope you enjoyed reading this.
